Current Projects

Go-Mission is leading a humanitarian effort among villages in the central highlands of Vietnam where the people suffer with high rates of infant mortality, malnutrition, contaminated water supplies, and limited educational opportunity. We have implemented a strategic plan to improve the quality of life in these villages focusing on clean water, education, health and nutrition solutions to the effects of poverty. The philosophy of Go-Mission reflects three decades of successfully empowering the poor and under-served:

  • Clean Water – We have completed our eighth clean water project. We will continue these projects until the entire area has access to clean water.

  • Health - We adapted and translated a village health manual for health education in hygiene, pre-natal care, post-natal care, nutrition, and first aid. Our team of doctors from Huế, Vietnam conducts health seminars to educate the people in these areas.

  • Nutrition – Along with nutritional education, Go-Mission provides goats and chickens for the people to raise, supplying both protein and a way to generate income for the families.

  • Education - Public education is not free in Vietnam. Families must pay for elementary school and high school. This being one of the most impoverished regions of the country, most cannot afford education for their children. Go-Mission is sponsoring children to assure their access to education.

  • Results - Sponsored children have become some of the best students in their classes. Poor families have food to eat. People have access to clean water. A village leader said, “The history of our village is changing.” Another leader told us, “Before you came, our people had no hope. Now our people have hope.” We shall continue bringing hope in practical ways to empower these people to a bright future.
