Venezuela

Venezuela is a beautiful nation with a rich history but is now suffering a severe humanitarian and economic crises. The country is ravaged by corruption. The economy and basic human services are failing. Over nine million people are considered food insecure, representing one-third of the population. Human rights violations include over 20,000 extrajudicial killings and convictions without proper trials and representation. Seven million people have left the country in a mass exodus.

Through a team led by William Quintero, a former drug addict who spent 18 years in prison, Go-Mission is leading a vibrant prison outreach. Inmates receive only one small meal a day. Many are suffering from malnutrition. We provide food to supplement their diet and educational materials for 2,900 male and female inmates monthly, including political prisoners, in six prisons. We are also providing food for 586 displaced people, including 120 homeless.

The purchase of a home, agricultural field, and fish ponds has now provided a half-way house for released prisoners to receive life-changing instruction and life-skills. Agricultural and fish production makes the location fully sustainable and provides men with the ability to re-enter society with skills and dignity.

We are honored to partner with William Quintero in spreading hope in practical and life-changing ways to those suffering in Venezuela.
