Our History
After establishing the organization Urban Harvest in 1994 focusing on empowerment in inner city communities in the U.S. and other nations, Go-Mission was founded in 2018 to lead international humanitarian and educational projects among the poor. The first location was Vietnam. Dr. Tom Grassano visited Vietnam in 1996 accompanying a Vietnam Veteran reconciliation mission which was also building a medical clinic in a rural area. He visited tribal villages, beginning an impactful and life-changing mission. After subsequent trips to Vietnam, he was able to return to the tribal villages he visited in 1996 and began building relationships with local leaders. He listened to them expressing their needs and began strategizing with them, forming partnerships to combat malnutrition and high levels of infant mortality and to ensure education for children. This became the focus and Go-Mission was founded.
The mission of Go-Mission is to improve quality of life, ensure access to nutritious and sustainable food, secure pathways to education, mentor leaders, build networks for change, and build bridges between cultures. Partnerships continue in Vietnam and have developed in other nations. Learn more about our current projects here.
